Snow Train to the Rockies

Make your own way to the station this afternoon and board Via Rail’s ‘The Canadian’ train for the overnight journey from Vancouver to Jasper. This morning, transfer by coach to the picturesque alpine town of Banff for a two night stay at the “Castle in the Sky”, Fairmont Banff Springs. This afternoon, step aboard your horse-drawn sleigh and glide over sparkling snow as you take in the gorgeous mountain scenery. Travel into the Bow River Valley where the only sounds to disturb the silence are the clomping of hooves and the jingle of the horses’ harness.

Today Snowshoe on an easy trail along a bridge across the frozen Vermilion River and along the snowy path winding through a forest of pine trees to the Paint Pots, a cultural treasure within the National Park. In the afternoon wander downtown for a spot of shopping, perhaps take the Banff Gondola up Sulphur Mountain and experience Nightrise, an immersive light and sound show or enjoy dinner at Sky Bistro.
